ANDES SCHOOL DISTRICT

Andes, NY

Historical Preservation has been a key aspect of the Andes Central School’s 2019 Capital Building Project. The new portico railings, flat-seam copper roofing details, and the main slate roof system are all major highlights of the building’s exterior. The re-constructed railings serve as a historically accurate depiction of the School’s Greek Revival Architecture.  Spindles from the original build were salvaged and incorporated into the new railing system.  The entire slate roof was replaced in-kind with the addition of copper snow guards.  The roof is paramount to the historic neoclassical design that pervades throughout New York State.

Project Cost: Approx. $3M
